INTERVIEW
HS: Thank you for joining us ! Let’s start with something light—what’s your favorite way to unwind after a busy day?
BW: Brandy- Glass of wine and/or hot bath | Krissi- an espresso martini (or dirty) and a good book
HS: You’ve had an incredible journey so far. Can you tell us about the moment you realized this was the path you wanted to take?
BW: After the first/pilot episode. We’ve had many goofy conversations privately, but after recording the first episode we knew we were onto something. We have lots to share.
HS: You’ve built a strong reputation in your field. What’s one aspect of your process that might surprise people?
BW: We typically don’t plan our answers. We try to keep it as real and unrehearsed as possible. It’s a work in progress but we are learning as we go along.
HS: You’ve had some amazing experiences along the way. What’s a highlight that really stands out to you?
BW: People who reach out and say that a certain episode really helped them. Also being out there on the inter webs is challenging but we are dealing with it and appreciatve for the opportunity.
HS: Challenges come with the territory in any field. How do you stay motivated when things get tough?
BW: We count on each other and talk things out. We’ve done that for years.
HS: The creative side of what you do is huge. What inspires you the most when you’re creating something new?
BW: We strive to ensure that anything we create is a reflection on who we are as hella friends. Positive reinforcements and anything empowering is a plus creatively.
HS: Collaboration seems to be key in your work. Is there anyone you’re particularly excited about working with or any dream collaborations you’d love to make happen?
BW: Our dream collaboration would be any actor of “A Different World” or “Living Single”. Those character were so influential to us growing up. Getting an inside look of what that really looked like would be amazing.
HS: Let’s switch it up—what’s one fun or random fact about you that most people don’t know?
BW: Brandy- has a wonder woman obsession | Krissi- stand a Kpop group called “Ateez” (although we just shared this in our latest episode)
HS: As someone who’s been successful, what advice would you give to someone just starting out?
BW: Take your time. Focus on content and be truthful with it. Don’t focus on the number of likes or subscribers you have (or don’t have), this can lead to an unwarranted worry or fear. Let growth happen naturally.
HS: Finally, what’s next for you? Are there any exciting projects or goals on the horizon that you’d like to share with our listeners?
BW: Both hosts are self-published authors. We foresee more writing in our futures and sharing that part of our journey on our podcast.
