Audio/Video Technician (Part-Time)

Role Overview:

As a Part-Time Audio/Video Technician, you’ll be at the heart of our podcast production process, ensuring the highest quality audio and visual components in all recording sessions. Your responsibilities will extend to training new members on equipment usage and contributing to the editing of both audio and video podcasts.

Qualifications:

To thrive in this role, you should have:

• Proficiency in the following audio and video production areas:

  • Podcast Recording
  • Live Streaming
  • Tape Syncing
  • Field Audio Recording
  • Audio/Video Editing
  • Cabling

• Experience with at least one of the following video editing applications:

  • Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premier, DaVinci Resolve

• Experience with at least one of the following audio editing applications:

  • Audacity, Garageband, Protools, Logic, Adobe Audition

• Familiarity with audio and video recording equipment, including:

  • Microphones
  • Zoom Audio Recorders
  • Sony Cameras
  • Zoom and Rode Mixers

• Strong attention to detail

• Outgoing, hardworking, personable, motivated, and goal-oriented individuals

• Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

• Proficiency in PC usage, particularly in the Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

You will work collaboratively with the creative team to bring compelling audio and video content to life. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on exciting projects, from concept development to post-production, and to contribute to the growth of our podcasting endeavors.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in podcast production, from concept development to distribution.
• Strong scriptwriting and storytelling skills.
• Experience with audio and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Audition, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere).
• Exceptional organizational and project management abilities.
• Creative thinking and a passion for innovative podcast content.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with podcast and video distribution platforms and analytics tools is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Development:

• Collaborate with the creative team to conceptualize and develop podcast ideas, both audio and video.
• Research and gather information to support podcast topics and narratives.
• Write scripts and outlines for podcast episodes, considering both audio and video elements.

Production Management:

• Coordinate all aspects of podcast production, including scheduling, recording (audio and video), and editing (audio and video).
• Collaborate with hosts, guests, and team members to ensure smooth production processes for both audio and video content.
• Oversee recording sessions for both audio and video formats, managing audio and visual quality.

Editing and Post-Production:

• Edit and assemble podcast episodes, ensuring high audio and video quality.
• Add music, sound effects, and other elements to enhance the listener/viewer experience.
• Review and proofread episode content for accuracy and clarity in both audio and video formats.

Distribution and Promotion:

• Manage the distribution of podcast episodes (both audio and video) across various platforms.
• Develop promotional strategies to increase podcast visibility and engagement for both formats.
• Monitor audience feedback and adjust content accordingly.

Team Collaboration:

• Work closely with hosts, co-producers, sound engineers, and videographers, fostering a collaborative environment for both audio and video content production.
• Provide guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of podcast projects in both formats.
