How to Download and Manage Your Files from Your Dropbox Folder

At Hello Studios, we make accessing and managing your files simple and secure. After your recording session, your files will be stored in a dedicated Dropbox folder shared with the email address you provided during registration. This guide will walk you through the steps to download your files and keep them organized for your use.

Step 1: Check Your Email for the Dropbox Folder Invitation

  1. After your session, you’ll receive an email from hello@iamhellostudios.com with a link to your shared folder.
    • The folder will be shared with the email address you provided to Hello Studios.
  2. Open the email and click on the “View Folder” button to access the files.
    • If you don’t see the email in your inbox, check your spam or promotions folder.

Step 2: Access Your Dropbox Account

  1. Click the link in the email, and you’ll be redirected to Dropbox.
  2. If you already have a Dropbox account linked to your email:
    • Log in with your credentials to access the shared folder.
  3. If you don’t have a Dropbox account:
    • Follow the on-screen prompts to create a free Dropbox account using the email address where the folder was shared.

Step 3: Download Your Files

Once you’ve accessed the folder, follow these steps to download your files:

Download Individual Files

  1. Open the shared folder and locate the file you want to download.
  2. Hover over the file name and click the “…” (three dots) icon.
  3. Select “Download” from the dropdown menu.
  4. The file will begin downloading to your computer or device.

Download the Entire Folder

  1. To download all the files at once, navigate to the shared folder.
  2. Click the “Download” button in the top-right corner of the page.
  3. The folder will be downloaded as a .zip file to your computer.
  4. Unzip the folder to access your files.

Copy Files to Your Dropbox Account

If you prefer, you can purchase your own Dropbox account directly from Dropbox and copy the shared folder to your personal account.

  • This option provides a convenient way to access and store your files without downloading them to your hard drive.
  • Ensure your Dropbox account has sufficient space to accommodate the files.

Step 4: Verify Your Files

We strongly recommend that you:

  • Download the entire podcast episode and any accompanying files.
  • Play back the files to confirm they have downloaded correctly and are complete.

Important: Once you delete the files from Dropbox, we have no way of recovering them. Please ensure everything is backed up to your personal storage before making any deletions.

Step 5: Ensure Adequate Storage Space

Before downloading, make sure you have enough storage space available:

  • Hard Drive or External Hard Drive: Verify that your computer or external drive has enough capacity for the large files, especially if they are recorded in 4K with multiple camera angles.
  • Extended Hosting Option:
    • If you don’t have enough storage space or cannot download the files in time, you can purchase extended hosting through Hello Studios for $25/month for up to 1TB of storage.

File Deletion Notifications

To help you manage your files, we’ll send you:

  • Email Notification: You’ll receive an email reminder when your files are nearing the 7-day free storage limit.
  • Text Notification: A text message will also be sent to the phone number on file, giving you an additional prompt to download or move your files.

These notifications ensure you have ample time to secure your files before they are deleted.

Additional Notes

  • Storage Timeline: Files are stored on our servers for free for up to 7 days. After that, they are moved to a paid Dropbox storage plan or deleted if no plan is selected.
  • Premium Storage: If you need extended access, subscribe to our $25/month storage plan, which provides up to 1TB of storage.
