How to Access and Manage Your Delivered Files

At Hello Studios, we make sure you have everything you need to manage your podcast and video content with ease. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to access and make the most of your delivered files.

Step 1: Understanding Your Delivered Files

Once your project is ready, we’ll notify you via email that your files are available in a Dropbox folder. Here’s what you’ll find:

  1. Raw Video Footage
    • You’ll receive all the unedited video angles you recorded.
    • Each angle includes audio recorded directly from the camera. While this is useful for reference, we recommend relying on the separate mixer audio for the best sound quality.
  2. Mixer Audio
    • This is the high-quality audio recorded during your session. It’s perfect for syncing with your video footage to ensure professional sound.
  3. Multi-Track vs. Single-Track Audio
    • If you requested multi-track audio, each speaker’s voice will be recorded on its own channel. To edit these, you’ll need software like Audacity or Adobe Audition.
    • If you opted for single-track audio, all speakers are combined into one track, making it easier to play and edit without additional software.

Step 2: Accessing Your Files

  1. Via Dropbox
    • Check your email for the link to your secure Dropbox folder.
    • Download all files within 7 days to ensure you have them stored safely. If you need more time, we offer extended storage for $25 per month.
  2. External Hard Drives or SD Cards
    • If you prefer, you can bring your own hard drive or SD card during your recording session.
    • We’re happy to transfer the files directly to your device.

Step 3: Syncing Audio and Video

By default, the video and audio files are delivered unsynced. Don’t worry—syncing is simple, and we’re here to help if needed!

  1. What’s Included in the Video Files:
    • The raw video footage includes one camera angle with audio from the mixer. This can serve as a backup but isn’t ideal for your final project.
  2. Recommended Workflow:
    • Use the mixer audio as your primary sound source.
    • Sync it with your chosen video angle(s) using editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.
  3. Need Help Syncing?
    • We can handle the syncing for you for an additional fee of $75 or 0.50 credits.

Step 4: Making the Most of Multi-Track Audio

If you opted for multi-track audio:

  • Open the file in compatible software like Audacity or Adobe Audition.
  • Use the separate tracks to isolate speakers or make individual edits. This feature is great for cleaning up overlapping dialogue or enhancing a specific voice.

If you opted for single-track audio, no extra steps are needed to play or edit the file.

Step 5: Best Practices for Managing Your Files

  1. Download Files Promptly:
    • Save your files from Dropbox within 7 days to avoid accidental loss.
  2. Keep Your Backup Audio:
    • The audio included in the video files can serve as a backup, but always use the mixer audio for the best sound quality.
  3. Ask Questions Early:
    • If you’re unsure about how to use your files, don’t hesitate to reach out to us for guidance.
